REUNION RANCH PHASE 2, SECTION 1

PROJECT SUMMARY

Phase 2, Section 1 of the Reunion Ranch project required the construction of a two-lane bridge over the Bear Creek, which divides the Reunion Ranch development. The bridge consisted of a two-travel lane with a dividing lane, and it was built out of pre-stressed concrete bridge girders spanning 500 feet in five equal sections. This project also included the construction of two limestone retaining walls, a retention pond, and grading, paving, and curb work for the parking lot adjacent to the neighborhood amenity center.

Multiple contractors were onsite during construction to complete their respective scopes. The water and wastewater services for both sides of the development were tied together by approximately 3,000 linear feet of PVC and Ductile Iron Water pipe that was installed up to and across the bridge by hanging the pipe underneath the bridge deck. Additionally, 550 linear feet of storm sewer pipe feeding the retention pond was installed for adequate drainage of the development. The last part of the scope included about a half mile of road consisting of two travel lanes, a bike lane on both sides, and a 24” ribbon curb that was installed to allow access to Phase 2, Sections 2A and 2B of the development.

Our team conducted daily inspections and oversaw the testing of the utilities installed for the district utility engineer. Weekly meetings with contractors, project managers, superintendents, and the developer were conducted to ensure that the crews were not working on top of each other and that they were maintaining the set completion date.
